| JobDescription | Summary/Purpose: The job holder is the key interface between the ITO Bid Teams, Project Teams, the company Business Units & Sourcing departments, key suppliers and on occasion customers , with specific regard to the management and control of Subcontracts. The job holder is responsible for ensuring that at the ITO phase the bid teams are provided with high quality costs and delivery information for subcontracted material and equipment. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for the creation, negotiation ,placement and management of subcontracts, during both ITO & OTR phases, ensuring adherence to current Sourcing & Project strategies/ requirements and ensuring alignment with Customer requirements. Responsible for supporting the project in ensuring that all subcontracts are commercially managed to place company in the least risk and best commercial position to deliver and improve on its financial targets Responsible for supporting ITO teams in obtaining high quality input to bids for major subcontract items in accordance with the approved process and procedures Responsible for major sub contract negotiations as appropriate. Responsible for the efficient and professional management, control, expediting and On-Time delivery of Subcontracts and supporting Projects personnel in all matters relating to such Subcontracts. Ensure that subcontract variation controls systems are established and meet project requirements and manage the negotiation of variations in line with contractual and project requirements Responsible for ensuring that all Project Subcontracting strategies and actions align to the Global Sourcing Strategy. Responsible for ensuring relevant Sourcing personnel are aware of all applicable Project Subcontracting requirements. Responsible for medium/long term Project Subcontracting strategies. Responsible for Project specific Subcontract status reports as required and monthly reporting against strategic plans. Support the preparation and delivery of Company Risk Review Committee presentations and reviews |
| JobRequirements | Qualifications/Requirements: Contractual Awareness, including legal and commercial compliance: Full understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of contractual management clauses in areas such as but not limited to Confidentiality, Completion Notices, Payment Profiles & Cashflow, Variation Control, Cancellation. Required to make sound commercial decisions. Full understanding and working knowledge of the key legal risk areas such as but not limited to Contractual Liability, Insurance requirements, defective performance and Warranty obligations for goods and services. Technical Product Knowledge: Understanding of subsea production systems PC Literate: Excel, Word. Power-point: Risk Assessment; Understanding of key commercial risks and areas for opportunity and able to lead risk review process and assessments. Supply Chain Management Awareness: Understanding of Sourcing strategy and initiatives including but not limited to Commodity Structure, local content, Best Cost Country ,Long Term Agreements Negotiating Skills: To secure favourable outcomes, having the flexibility to understand and negotiate alternative contractual and commercial positions with suppliers (subject to approval) Process Improvement: To continually review and improve the subcontract process to meet changing business demands. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Supply Chain Demonstrable relevant industry experience. Demonstrable experience within Supply Chain/Sourcing. Desired Characteristics Oral & Written Communication: Speaks clearly, fluently and in a compelling manner to both individuals and groups. Writes in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate grammar, style and language for the reader. Action & Results Orientation: Demonstrates a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action. He/she should also have the goal in their vision and should achieve the planned goal. Team Work: Demonstrates good team working abilities and should be able to arrange and manage events which involve various teams. Customer Focus: Maintains customer focus, both internal and external. Good customer relationships are to be maintained to help generate a sense of belonging for internal customers and project the company as being customer sensitive for external customers. Planning & Organisation: Organises and schedules events, activities and resources. Sets up and monitors timescales and plans. Commercial Awareness: Understands and applies commercial and financial principles. Views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value. Flexibility: Successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions. Problem Solving & Analysis: Analyses issues and breaks them down into their components parts. Makes systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information. 37.5 hr week, on site parking close to Bristol with easy access off the M5.
