| JobDescription | Description Are you an engineer and have experience of planning for heavy rotating power plant equipment? Our client, a global leader and provider of power generation products and services, is looking for a Planning Engineer. The organisation has offices in the UK, Poland, Germany, USA, Sweden and South Africa and is responsible for the successful design, delivery and installation of turbine retrofits across the world. The Midlands office currently manages projects in the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Finland, Netherlands and Korea and has seen a growth of over 50% within the last two years. Purpose of the role The Planning Engineer will be responsible for providing Turbine Retrofit planning support and expertise for tenders and for execution of site installation. Key responsibilities Obtain, integrate and evaluate approved sub-supplier quotations in support of tenders. Provide planning support for tenders Technical and organisational interface to colleagues, clients and suppliers. Manage installation related documentation exchanges and requirements for specific projects. Optimisation of resource plans to meet project objective for duration and total installation costs. Maintenance of master schedule, provide look-ahead planning and support of the project's installation management team, including schedule and resource options, simulations and risk evaluation. Participate and lead initiatives and training sessions for internal staff to raise awareness of Installation Management issues within the retrofit product portfolio. Support experience feedback initiatives related to planning; input, evaluation and leading improvement actions. Qualifications Degree qualified (Mechanical Engineering, alternative Electrical Eng.) or equivalent relevant experience. Expert knowledge of planning software, ideally P3. Recognised staff management training or Project Management training is an advantage. Previous training as mechanical fitter or supervisor in heavy rotating equipment maintenance is an advantage. |
