JobTitle Procurement Managers
JobDescription Two immediate positions available on a permanent or rolling contract basis to be located at Aldermaston. Security clearance will be required for this opportunity.

Job/Role Purpose:
To provide commercial support to the DI Utilities Programme project staff and for the adoption of best practice supplier selection, risk management, negotiation of supply chain arrangements and coordination of supply side cost reduction initiatives in accordance with AWE procedures and processes.

Key Accountabilities:
• Ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently in accordance with AWE Procedures, Project Delivery Process and Assurance policies and that value for money can be demonstrated on all purchases

Key Responsibilities:
• Management of the DI Utilities Commercial and Procurement function
• Production and updating at agreed regular intervals of DI Utilities procurement plans covering all external project spend including that under framework arrangements
• Ensuring delivery to time cost and quality against each individual contract placed in support of the project
• Supporting the DI Utilities Project Managers in all commercial matters taking the lead where appropriate
• Instigating and supporting the production and delivery of commercial strategies including forms of contract which minimise AWE’s exposure to risk
• Contributing to DMP, DI and SCM review learn and improve initiatives
• Responding to customer feedback on performance matters
• Helping the develop the individual skills and strengths of junior staff
• Producing and developing effective management plans
• Any other commercial duties requested by line management

JobRequirements Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent
• CIPS or some related and recognised professional qualification
Knowledge
• A detailed knowledge of construction contracting and of NEC 3 and GC Works forms of contract.
• Microsoft Office suite especially Word, Powerpoint and Excel
• Familiar with Oracle

Experience:
• Experience of working as a member of integrated project delivery teams delivering construction and other capital schemes

Skills:
• Ability to lead a commercial team of mixed skills and abilities
• Persuasive and articulate, clear, concise, fluent and unambiguous in the exchange of information at all levels.
• Numerate
• Strong safety awareness
