Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

An Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer is required for a 12 month contract in the UK. This role will require travel between customer and client sites.

You will be required to:
• Develop and drive an advanced quality product planning system
• Use associated tools
• Assess potential supplier capabilities
• Influence the correct sourcing decision
• Support / drive pre-production meetings to enable product and process development
• Support / drive correct prototype sample approval process
• Support / drive correct product FAIR/PPAP process
• Assess supplier capacity to meet product requirements
• Support /drive producibility assessments

You will preferably hold an engineering degree and have at least 5 years relevant industry experience.

You should also have the following skills and expertise:
• Project management experience
• Supplier delivery assurance
• Supplier quality management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and influence skills to drive process improvements and resolve issues required
• Strong persuasion and negotiation of critical issues, as well as demonstrated creativity, vision and mature judgment in anticipating / resolving complex issues required
• Comprehensive knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Quality Assurance Engineering and practices applicable to the manufacture of aerospace products including regulatory, military, commercial, and industry/customer standards (i.e., ISO9001-2000, AS9100, TS16949) is preferred
• Strong program management skills and a track record of coming through on commitments

Ideally you will also have experience with:
• Manufacturing/Assembly Operations of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA, PWB, PBA)
• Advanced Product Quality Planning
• Engineering Design
• Design Manufacturing
• Materials
• Procurement
• Program Management
• APQP processes
• PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA
• Lean Expert and Six Sigma Green/Black Belt

Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience

The role is due to start early 2018.
