SharePoint Project Manager - West Oxfordshire

Job Description

Working as part of the IT project delivery team the SharePoint Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of multiple SharePoint upgrade project from SharePoint 2007/2010 to SharePoint 2013 including multiple enhancements to the platforms. 

18 month defence contract based near Witney, Oxford to start asap.

Duties include:
• Accountable for the successful delivery of the project, the communication and the stakeholder management expected of major change initiatives
• Ensure effect communication to all project stakeholders
• Ensure that system planning, technical and operational support capabilities are key design considerations of project
• Raise a Request For Change (RFC) should the project exceed the approved baseline or tolerance for scope, time, cost, resource and quality
• Submit fortnightly highlight reporting on project status including budget, risks and issues
• Responsible and accountable for managing the project costs
• Responsible and accountable for managing a valid and practical project plan
• Maintain a full set of documentation as required by the IT Project Management Process for the project and sub project, including PID, regular reporting, budget, risks and resource planning

• A good understanding of the SharePoint development life cycle and therefore able to articulate SharePoint terminology where necessary.
• Experience in SharePoint 2007, 2010, 2013 and its professional application
• Working collaboratively with Solution Architects, SharePoint Developers and SharePoint Administrators to develop solutions that meet business goals within budget, time and scope
• Experience in running SharePoint projects from inception of idea to architecture and development
• Able to translate a client's vision into real world solutions
• Capture requirements and help to document specifications and scope
• Plan and coordinate all resources of the planned delivery from design/architecture to deployment
• Create project timelines, deployment plans and production schedules

Key Deliverables:
• Effect management of all IT elements of Business projects and also IT driven projects
• Contribute to the maintenance of IT Project Management processes to enable precise reporting on all IT projects
• Ensure that support requirements are built into project plans from inception and that systems are designed for production and support
• Establish and maintain accurate documentation and plans for projects in accordance with the Project Management Process
• Present project status, gate reviews and project change request at Project board and Project Review Board
• Act as the focal point for all activities associated with the project
• Report regularly to the Head of Solution Delivery and other key stakeholders on the project status and issues
• Meet with  suppliers and assist IT team ensuring Suppliers delivery to meet Project requirements 

Experience:
• Experience of working on IT Projects – Mobilisations, software upgrades, hardware refreshes. Projects that span multiple IT disciplines and areas including SharePoint migrations
• Experienced IT professional, focussed on being a part of a cost effective and efficient Infrastructure programme management team
• Project Management qualification (Prince2/ APMP practitioner preferred)
• Proven knowledge and experience of implementing and delivering large IT projects in complex environments within Budget and Timescales using approved Project Methodology
